Through hole resistors, also known as axial lead resistors, are the most common type of resistor. They are cylindrical in shape and have two wire leads extending from the body in two axial directions. Most through hole resistors are made of a ceramic body filled with carbon pellets, metal film, or wirewound resistors, which are used to control the resistance of the component and circuits.
