DC DC Converters
DC-DC converters are components that take an input voltage and convert it to a different, usable output voltage. The RSO-0512D/H3 DC-DC converter is a high-efficiency, low to intermediate power supplies. It has integral short circuit protection and 6:1 input voltage range. This unit accepts 16-40VDC input voltage range, and produces two isolated outputs, regulated 5V and 12V respectively.
The RSO-0512D/H3 is an ideal DC-DC Converter for medical, industrial and telecom applications where high efficiency and low noise power conversion is required. It is type tested by UL/EN/IEC 62368-1 for safety approval, and also CE, marking for EMI/EMM, and FCC Part 15 Class A.

Working Principle:
The RSO-0512D/H3 is a terminal block type DC-DC converter with an integrated transformer. It consists of a high frequency switching output regulator and heavy duty heat sink in its composite enclosure. The DC-DC converter takes the input power supplied from the external DC source and then step-down it to the required output voltage. The switch-mode high frequency conversion provides high efficiency over a wide load range. The RSO-0512D/H3 also provides many protection features, such as high input voltage and output overvoltage, thermal or short circuit protection.
In addition, self-protection features help to optimize the usage of this unit, such as soft-start, brown-in/out protection and ripple rate control at no-load condition. Other advantages include 100% burn-in test and no de-rating up to 40degC ambient environment.
