DC-DC converters are devices used to drop or boost voltage of a DC supply or signal. There are two kinds of DC-DC converters, the buck converter and the boost converter. The buck converter is an AC-to-DC bridge circuit which takes in an AC signal and outputs DC. The boost converter is a high-power device that takes in a DC signal and raises its voltage by a certain factor by means of an inductor. The RSS-123.3/HP DC-DC converter is a high-power device that uses both of these functions together. It has two main components: the input rectifier circuit and the boost circuit.

The input rectifier circuit is composed of a set of diodes which are connected in a rectifier bridge configuration. This circuit takes in AC power from an external source and rectifies it into a DC signal. The diodes in the rectifier bridge protect the RSS-123.3/HP from overvoltages, as well as protect any other components connected to it from reverse voltages due to leakage current.

The boost circuit is an inductor, which is used to increase the voltage of the DC signal from the rectifier bridge. An inductor can increase a DC signal up to a power of about 500V. When the inductor is energized, the current flowing through it increases, and as a consequence, the voltage in the inductor also increases due to its self-inductance. It is composed of an operational amplifier, or op-amp, that helps to regulate the output voltage by comparing the output voltage with a reference voltage. The op-amp will then either increase or decrease the output voltage as necessary in order to keep it at the reference voltage.

The RSS-123.3/HP DC-DC converter is a high-power device used to boost or drop the voltage of a DC supply or signal. It can provide up to 500V DC from an AC power source, and up to 500V from a DC source.
