The RSS-1509/P DC DC Converter is a switching power supply, used to convert a rectified DC voltage into an adjustable regulated voltage. It offers high efficiency, low ripple and noise, a wide range of control options, and wide input voltage range.The architecture of the RSS-1509/P consists of a full-bridge converter with PWM control. It utilizes high frequency (150kHz) switching operation with minimal electromagnetic interference (EMI). The board is comprised of extreme temperature-resistant insulation, guaranteeing reliable heat dissipation and long term operation. The RSS-1509/P utilizes a custom transformer, making the input and output voltages adjustable via the onboard potentiometer and selector switch.The power transistors within the RSS-1509/P utilize a low dynamic on-resistance allowing high current transfer capacity. The powerful buck-boost circuit offers positive and negative voltage support and polarity protection. Additionally, a high switching frequency and a wide input voltage range (up to 600 V) creates a power supply suitable for a variety of applications requiring a wide input voltage range.The RSS-1509/P is equipped with a wide range of protections such as overvoltage, over-temperature and overpower, to ensure proper operation. In the event of any fault conditions, the RSS-1509/P provides an output disconnect signal, and a thermal shutdown signal for system monitoring.The RSS-1509/P application field and working principle is quite simple. It uses an external power source to rectify the input AC through a series of diodes and capacitors. This provides the energy to the external components such as transistors and transformers, which form the switching circuit. The switching circuit creates a pulse width modulation signal which then is sent to a rectifier to convert the pulsed signal back to DC. The output voltage is regulated through the regulation loop, which comprises a voltage comparator, a control potentiometer and a voltage sensing resistor.The operating principle of the RSS-1509/P is based on the core idea of creating a regulated DC voltage.
