RU-3.30505/P application field and working principle

RU-3.30505/P is an advanced non-isolated buck DC-DC converter from RECOM, a world leader in DC/DC power conversion products and services. The RU-3.30505/P is an ultra low power, high efficiency DC-DC regulator. Its low ripple and high efficiency output regulation is ideal for many low-power and medium-power applications. Its design is based on RECOM’s patented Constant On-Time (COT) control topology combined with a proprietary thermal protection circuit. The RU-3.30505/P provides excellent performance with a typical efficiency of up to 95%, a very low quiescent current of only 20 mA and adjustable current limit over output current range from 0 to 2 A. The COT comparator is then used to drive the clock signal of the high-side MOSFET driver. To ensure additional protection, the RU-3.30505/P also includes current-mode limit control for output current limitation, adjustable OVP for overvoltage protection, and automatic thermal shutdown. This ensures both the efficiency and the safety of the converter. In addition, the device is subjected to an on-chip self-calibration process that reduces initial production calibration costs and allows it to operate within tight specification, providing guaranteed performance.
