The device is built with two high frequency switching transistors, Q1 and Q2 respectively, which alternately switch on and off to create a “chopping” or “switching” effect that converts the high-voltage DC input to the lower voltage DC output.The operation of the RV-053.3S is based on a simple principle: when Q1 is on, the electric current flows from the input to the output and creates a magnetic field which in turn is used to drive Q2 off.
