Working Principle

The S-1701B operates by steps. First, the user will select the required operating voltage and current demands. Then, the S-1701B acts as an adjustable voltage source to supply the appropriate output voltage to the load.To achieve this, the S-1701B uses an internal voltage reference (VREF) to compare the output voltage with the requested voltage. When the voltage difference is too low, it will internally increase the duty cycle sensor (DCS) to produce a larger output voltage. Conversely, if the voltage difference is too high, the DCS will reduce the output voltage by decreasing its duty cycle.In order to attain the most accurate regulation, an external loop compensation circuit is suggested for S-1701B. With the help of an external resistor and capacitor, the loop compensation circuit interacts with the hysteresis of the DCS and accurately routes the current response of the S-1701B to enable faster and more precise output voltage control.
