The S-8200ADB-I6T1U has many application fields. For example, it can be used in mobile device battery management, energy storage system and energy harvesting system. It can also be used in wearables, automotive, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV), 3C Device, thin and light notebook, robotic solution, medical device, and Internet of Things.

The S-8200ADB-I6T1U also works with a host MCU, so it can be programmed in different ways, and it has a 7-bit VID feature, providing around 128 different programmable current values and voltage values. Additionally, the S-8200ADB-I6T1U supports up to 8 different battery configurations, including diode-OR & charge share functions, 3rd party input current sources and other control options.

The working principle of S-8200ADB-I6T1U is based on an active current source with a voltage transformation process. The voltage transformation process is usually performed by a voltage amplifier and voltage regulator, providing power supply and control signals to the current source and the load. The active current source is a switching power converter that can regulate the current flowing in the battery pack. The feedback control system of the active current source helps to maintain a constant current in the battery pack, despite changes in load and cell voltages.

The S-8200ADB-I6T1U also supports flexibility with the LED indicator control and charge status output. It also features a 6-cell/6-pack Automatic Sequential Detection algorithm, which can quickly and efficiently detect the number of cells/packs available, and the Status Flag can be used to signal the host MCU.
