The S-8232AXFT-T2-G is a wide input voltage, low battery voltage drop Single Cell Li-Ion Battery Protection IC (Protection IC). This Protection IC can be used for many different applications, including automotive, portable electronics and industrial products. It is designed to protect the Li-Ion battery from over-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature conditions, as well as from reversed connections, discharge over-current and short-circuits. In addition, it can provide battery charge over-voltage protection, as well as a cell balancing feature for multiple battery cell applications. The S-8232AXFT-T2-G can be used for Lithium-Ion, Li-Po and LiFePO4 battery packs.

The design of the S-8232AXFT-T2-G IC is based on an integrated circuit process that features high-performance MOSFETs, analog circuitry and an accurate RTC (Real Time Clock). All components of the chip are integrated in a single package. This design allows the S-8232AXFT-T2-G to provide maximum current protection, while optimizing its overall size.

Once all the cells in the battery have reached the same voltage, the IC will turn off the balancing current and provide protection against over-voltage and short-circuits.
