The S-8252AAY-I6T1U is an advanced PMIC (Power Management IC) and battery management IC (BMC) from STMicroelectronics. The ADC is also used to monitor the system temperatures, and the integrated over-temperature protection (OTP) and overvoltage protection (OVP) safeguard the system from getting damaged due to overcharging or over-temperature problems. The S-8252AAY-I6T1U comes with I2C (Inter-Integrated Circuit) interface and an array of timers, PWM (pulse width modulation) drivers, and other timers for controlling the power distribution and other functions. The integrated buck regulator provides up to 4A of continuous output current, and supports pulse skipmode and Burst Mode operation for improved light load efficiency. Low standby current consuming areas with variable current limits are also supported.
