The S-873021AUP-ADET2G, a high-performance integrated voltage regulator, constitutes a class of voltage regulators within the PMIC-Voltage Regulators-Special Purpose series. This regulator is used to convert an input voltage range of 1.8 to 5.5V (compatible with USB) to 1.2V regulated output (70 – 85 mA) from a 90-ohm load.It is designed to meet the stringent high-speed requirements for consumer handheld electronics, such as smartphone and tablets. It achieves excellent power stability and reduced power consumption over the entire load range and a very low quiescent current of only 0.1 μA.The S-873021AUP-ADET2G device is built using an advanced analog process, for very high speed and low power performance. The device\'s monolithic architecture offers built-in features such as soft start, over-current protection, thermal shutdown and reverse current protection. The device also features a programmable reference voltage and shutdown input (which allows external shutdown control) as well as logic-level voltage control.The S-873021AUP-ADET2G voltage regulator uses a linear regulator technique to achieve excellent regulation accuracy over the entire load range and temperature range. The device has a short-circuit protection circuit, which will shut down the regulator if the output current exceeds the specified level.The S-873021AUP-ADET2G device also has a proprietary current control loop technology, which can automatically reduce the output voltage for higher load conditions and provide more accurate regulation without additional external components.
