The S-LDA30 is a 30mm diameter DC brushless motor offering superior level of performance and reliability. Its application fields include household, business and industrial users. With its broad range of applications, S-LDA30 provides 800W of continuous power and a peak current of up to 60A allowing for high torque operation in a range of applications.
The S-LDA30 utilizes a non ferrous frameless design utilizing permanent magnets and slotted stator technology enabling high torque outputs from a small 30mm diameter package. An inbuilt Hall sensor provides feedback allowing the motor to be operated in both closed and open loop mode. The motor also features a built in thermistor allowing its temperature to be monitored and controlled.
The working principle of the S-LDA30 is based on Brushless DC Motors (BLDCM). In these type of motors, the output shaft turns when electric current is passed through the stator electromagnets. This causes the rotor to turn which produces the mechanical power output. As the electric current is passed through the magnets, the poles are attracted and repelled, causing the drive shaft to rotate. The rotor generates magnetic field in response to the electric current applied on the stator, ultimately creating a force to rotate the rotor.
In a BLDCM motor, the stator is made up of three coils which are wired in a star pattern, and the rotor contains several permanent magnets. When the stator and the rotor are put together, the rotor will rotate according to the electric current applied. In the S-LDA30, a Hall Effect Sensor is used to detect the position of the rotor, allowing for the precise control of the motor. This ensures that the rotor is always spinning in the correct direction, and can adjust the amount of torque with greater accuracy. The inbuilt thermistor also provides feedback regarding the temperature of the motor, allowing for more energy efficient operation.
