The working principle of this fixed inductor is based on Faraday’s law of induction, which states that whenever a changing current passes through a conductor, a changing magnetic flux is produced around the conductor. This magnetic flux induces an emf in the conductor which is equal to the rate of change of magnetic flux. When the current flowing through the inductor changes, the magnetic flux linked with the inductor changes and thus creates an induced emf in the winding of the inductor. This emf opposes the change in current, thus making the inductor an ideal device for regulating the current and maintaining a constant value.
The exact operation of an inductor depends on the type of inductor being used. Fixed inductors, like the S0603-39NF1E, usually contain a paper-insulated copper or aluminum wire wrapped around a ferrite core to create an adjustable magnetic field. The current flowing through the coil produces a changing magnetic field which in turn induces a self-emf in the coil. This self-induced emf is equal and opposite to the applied emf and is in accordance with Lenz’s Law.
