The S8VM-10015 is a compact AC/DC converter module designed to supply power in industrial, telecommunications and automation applications. It operates from a wide input voltage range of 85-264V and offers output current up to 5 Amps. It is a "flyback" type converter which utilizes a PFC boost circuit on the primary side and a power factor correction circuit on the secondary side.The module provides both AC and DC output voltages. The DC output is adjustable from 12 -48 VDC and the AC output varies from 90-265VAC. The S8VM-10015 also features wide input voltage range, high efficiency, low standby power consumption, silent operation, EMC filter and low inrush current.

Working Principle

The S8VM-10015 employs a PFC boost circuit and a synchronous rectifier on the primary side of the flyback converter. This allows the device to operate from a wide input voltage range of 85V-264VAC ; the PFC circuit ensures high efficiency and prevents PFC noises on the input side. On the secondary side, the power factor correction (PFC) circuit allows precise regulation of the output voltage even when the load current varies.The power is delivered to the primary and secondary side with two separate 4PIN connectors. On the primary side, the 506L connector provides the DC power while the AC voltage is supplied from the 511L connector on the secondary side. The S8VM-10015 also employs the latest switching technology to ensure minimal switching losses and high efficiency and to reduce EMI emissions. Its low standby power consumption also contributes to more economical system operation.
