Common Mode Chokes (CMCh) are designed to perform electrical filtering between systems. A CMCh consists of a series of inductors coupled to an electric conductor in the center. It is usually located between the source and load and aims to reduce any undesired coupling or coupling of noise signals from the source to the load. Common Mode Chokes are widely used in the telecommunications, power, computer and automotive industries.
The SC-10-D050 is a type of Common Mode Choke for use in digital and analog electronic voltage systems. This CMCh is designed to suppress noise peaks in the frequency range of 2 kHz – 500 MHz. It is commonly used in current AC 110/220V digital and analog injection systems to prevent the injection of unwanted noises into the power and data lines. The SC-10-D050 is also widely used in signal and power electronic applications. The product is approved according to the ISO/IEC 60950 safety standard.
The working principle of the SC-10-D050 Common Mode Choke is based on the self induction effect of the magnetic field produced by the electric current in the wire wrapped around the metal core. The winding acts as an inductor, whose inductance is determined by the geometry and number of turns in the coil. The inductor\'s magnetic field causes a back flow of current which opposes the original flow, thus limiting the current amplitude and suppressing the peak area.
The SC-10-D050 has a low temperature rise, low source impedance and low insertion loss. It is designed with two or four cores, depending on the application, and is available in two different versions: shielded and non-shielded. The shielded version has a built-in screen which acts as a shield against external electromagnetic interference. The non-shielded version, on the other hand, is not protected against noise interference.
Due to its wide range of applications, from signal filtering to power electronics, the SC-10-D050 Common Mode Chokes is a popular choice for designers. It is also a cost effective way to reduce EMI problems caused by electrical interference in electronic voltage systems. The SC-10-D050 offers good performance at relatively low cost and is widely used in many industries.
