SDL-111-TT-10 application field and working principle

SDL-111-TT-10 is a 6-position, 2-row common header manufactured by Sumitomo Electric Industries. This type of header is designed for use mainly as mating plugs or receptacle receptacles on wire to board connection systems in various applications.

Applications

SDL-111-TT-10 headers are for use in diverse applications such as: automotive electronics, cell phones, digital set-top boxes, game consoles, handheld systems, home appliances, industrial electronics, networking, peripherals, and audio/video equipment.

Working principle

The SDL-111-TT-10 header consists of two main parts; the female contact sleeves and the male contact termination pins. The male contact termination pins are pressed into the female contact sleeves from the top side of the header. This press-fit connection helps insure a secure connection between each contact and ensures the integrity of the wire-to-board connection.

Construction

The SDL-111-TT-10 contact termination is made from phosphor bronze and the contact sleeves are made from LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer). The header itself is made from an insulative resin body. The housing and terminal is UL 94V-0 rated for flammability.

Performance

The SDL-111-TT-10 header has a rated current of 2A and a rated voltage of 150V AC/DC. It also has an isolation distance of at least 8mm between circuits, allowing for superior safety guarantees. The contact resistance is lower than 40mΩ and the insulation resistance is over 100MΩ with a high voltage of 1000V AC for one minute.

Polarization

The presence of polarized contact protrusions ensures that the mating connectors make a secure connection without the risk of incorrect mating. The header is also designed to provide positioning tangs for mating alignments.
