Working Principle

The primary role of the SDL-114-TT-12 is to serve as a reliable and low-cost means to connect circuit boards or components. The connector works by mating a male pin-array with a female socket array. When the connector is properly mated, a small set of electrical contacts around both the male and female pins make contact to establish a reliable circuit. Each electrical contact is precisely machined to create a reliable physical and electrical connection which can operate under a wide range of operating temperatures.
The SDL-114-TT-12 offers two spring-loaded ears on either side to provide additional retention and improve mechanical strength. In addition, there are various mounting options available to make installation easier in tight spaces. The SDL-114-TT-12 can also be populated with a variety of options, including 5th pins for higher mated retention, plastic guides for easier mating and un-mating, and various overmold options to provide protection from environmental stress and damage.
The SDL-114-TT-12 well-suited for applications such as recharging batteries in portable communication devices, computer systems, simplex and duplex communications, and industrial control and monitoring, among many other uses. Additionally, due to its low pin counts, small size, and cost-effectiveness, it is gaining traction in a variety of applications due to its increased use by various manufacturers.
