SDL-120-TT-10 application field and working principle

SDL-120-TT-10 is a rectangular connector with a header type receptacle. It is widely adopted in many aplications like automotive, telecommunications, industry control. Working Principle

SDL-120-TT-10 connector consists of a number of individual contacts that are inserted into a header. Each contact has a number of contacts which mate with corresponding contacts in a receptacle. When the header is inserted into its receptacle, all contacts get connected and make the circuit.

The header is held in place in receptacle by two locking mechanisms. The first one is the spring action mechanism, which ensures that the inserted header is held firmly in its location. This mechanism prevents the connector from coming out of its position. The second one is the secondary locking tab which is provided on the header and receptacle for extra safety. When the header is inserted into the receptacle, the tab locks it into position and provides extra security in order to make sure that the header does not come out of its position.
