The SDL-135-G-12 is a rectangular connector type header, receptacle, female socket. It has a 1.2 mm row spacing between the mating pins. The socket is constructed with a 2-piece design, with two loose-fitting shells, held in place with either two or four securing screws. The inner body of the socket contains two rows of gold plated contacts that mate to a pair of headers. The header is a 1.2 mm grid array based on a 12 pin female socket format, with the middle pin missing.

Working Principle

The SDL-135-G-12 works on a mechanical level. When two sockets are mated, the two shells are guided into place by the mating pin pitch and lock in position with either two or four screws. As mechanical pull force is applied, the two shells are pulled together firmly, creating an acoustic seal for improved signal fidelity. The contacts are spring-loaded and by pushing in slightly they engage and connect both sockets, allowing current to pass through.
