SEN-10530 is a multi-functional, low-power, high-precision nodal force sensor. It adopts capacitive technology as the load-sensing element and is capable of measuring the low-frequency, limited range and high-precision force. It is a cost-effective tool for measuring and analyzing forces and providing a number of important parameters for next-generation robotic systems, industrial robots, human-machine interfaces, medical and rehabilitation equipment.

The SEN-10530 evaluation board contains an on-board memory module for storing up to 16 force/torque combinations. The force/torque combination can be displayed in either graphical or numerical format on the LCD display panel. The evaluation board also includes data conversion processing and level-shifting networks for connecting to external systems. In addition, the board features a wrist mounted flange with a three-axis accelerometer and two-axis magnetometer, enabling navigation depth sensing and position tracking.

The capacitive force sensor is a two-state system-in which a load-sensing element changes its state depending on the measured force. The capacitive load-sensing element works by converting the electrical energy generated as a result of the force into an electrical signal. This electrical signal is then used to create a mathematical model which is then used to monitor and detect changes in the force. The load-sensing element is also connected to the microcontroller, which processes the data and outputs the result.
