The SEN-13007 is an evaluation board from SparkFun Electronics and is designed to measure the barometric pressure, humidity, and temperature using the Silicon Labs Si7021 integrated temperature/humidity sensor. This board features an Arduino Uno R3 compatible interface and is ideal for long-term environmental monitoring applications.The SparkFun SEN-13007 is a weather-proof integrated sensor board, with or without a waterproof enclosure. It is designed to interface directly with the Arduino Uno R3 standard, and operates on a low voltage supply (3.3V). The enclosed version can measure environmental conditions within a range of -40°C to 85°C and 0-100% relative humidity. The on-boardSi7021 sensor contains two capacitance measurements - one for relative humidity and the other for temperature - and converts them into digital output signals. It also features a high dynamic range of up to 3Vpp, a low heat bias current of 40nA at room temperature, and low power consumption at 15mA (2.4-3.6V). The read-out accuracy of the sensor is between ±3% and ±5%, and resolution can reach up to 0.04°C for temperature and 0.08% for humidity (at a resolution of 0.3°C and 0.06%).Due to its low power consumption and accuracy, the SEN-13007 is increasingly used in a wide variety of environmental monitoring applications, such as in, manufacturing, agriculture, and research. Additionally, its small size and low power consumption makes it suitable for use in outdoor and remote monitoring systems, allowing users to monitor environmental conditions and adjust accordingly.The working principle of the SEN-13007 is based on the fact that air\'s ability to hold water vapor is dependent on temperature. As relative humidity increases, the amount of water vapor that the air can hold also increases. This increase in the air\'s ability to hold water vapor causes the temperature to increase until a point where the air can no longer hold any more moisture.The on-board Si7021 sensor measures the air\'s temperature and relative humidity (RH) in order to calculate the dew point of the air. This dew point serves as a measure that can be used to predict condensation on surfaces depending on the air\'s temperature and relative humidity. The dew point value is also used to calculate the vapor pressure of the air. When the temperature and relative humidity values of the air are determined, the air\'s vapor pressure is calculated using the data from the on-board Si7021 sensor. This vapor pressure is used to calculate the air\'s pressure using the Ideal Gas Law. By combining the data from the on-board Si7021 sensor with the Ideal Gas Law, the SEN-13007 is able to calculate accurate measurement values for temperature, relative humidity, and air pressure. The evaluation board also utilizes active analog hardware in order to test interface components, such as potentiometers and switches. Additionally, it is connected to a specialized Arduino Library in order to perform tasks such as reading and writing to analog pins.
