SEN0217 is an invisible infrared gas sensor module designed to detect the concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the environment. This infrared gas sensor can be used to detect the concentration of CO2 in air conditioning systems, ventilation systems, air pollution monitoring, indoor environment, laboratories, and more. It is suitable for use with Arduino and other microcontrollers, enabling the control of many different functions with ease.
SEN0217 works by using an infrared emitting diode (IRED) paired with an infrared detecting diode (IDD). As the IRED module emits an infrared light in the environment, the IDD module captures the infrared light reflecting off any existing molecules in the environment such as CO2. The IDD module then converts this infrared light into an electrical signal which is then processed by the on-board processor to accurately measure the concentration of CO2 present in the environment.
The SEN0217 module is equipped with an analog output pin (AOUT) that is used to provide the user with an analog signal corresponding to the current CO2 concentration. The AOUT pin can be connected to an analog input pin on an Arduino or other microcontroller. The module also has a digital output pin (DOUT) that can be used to interpret the analog signal to more accurately measure the level of CO2 present. The digital output can be connected to a digital input pin on the microcontroller to receive the data.
The SEN0217 also includes an on-board temperature sensor for temperature compensation. This helps to ensure that the level of CO2 is accurately calculated regardless of temperature changes in the environment. Additionally, the module has an adjustable measurement range of 0-2500ppm and a response time of 2-4 seconds. The module is powered by a 5v voltage source.
