SF-1206S400M-2 is a fuse which is designed to provide circuit protection when unexpected overvoltage or overload occurs. This fuse has a maximum voltage rating of 400V and current rating of 2A. It is a small size fuse with size of 12mm (L) × 6mm (W) × 5mm (H).

Application Field

SF-1206S400M-2 fuse is widely applied in many different industries and applications, such as healthcare, lighting, heating and ventilation, automobile and , railroad equipment, electrical appliances, and consumer electronics. The fuse is mainly used in circuit protection, and it is also used as the protective device for DC power supply, home electronics, communication industrials, office appliances, power tools, automotive systems and other DC circuits.

Working Principle

When an overload current occur in the circuit, the internal resistance of the fuse will generate large amounts of heat. With the increase of the overload current, the generated heat will high, and eventually the temperature will be higher than the melting point of the fuse wire. Then the current is interrupted off from the circuit by melting the heat sensitive element. After the fuse is tripped, the current will not comeback in the circuit until a new fuse is installed.

The over-voltage protection has the same working principle as an overload protection. When the voltage across the fuse gets higher than the maximum voltage rating of the fuse, it can cause an over-voltage protection. The over-voltage protection will also generate a large amount of heat, which will be higher than the threshold melting point of the fuse wire. Then the current is interrupted off from the circuit by melting the fuse wire.
