This type of oscillator is designed for extremely low power applications in line timing, clock conditioning and signal synchronization and has a wide range of uses in telecommunications, datacom and RF applications.The SG-3030LC 32.7680KB0: PURE SN contains an Ecliptek oscillator integrated circuit (IC) that uses what is known as a “single-supply non-crystallized oscillator” or SN approach. This approach allows for highly accurate performance over a wide range of operating conditions while using very little power. The SN approach is used in applications such as mobile telephones, wireless networks, and medical ultrasound imaging.The SG-3030LC 32.7680KB0: PURE SN oscillator is designed to provide a highly accurate clock with less than 5.0 ps accuracy, as well as low power consumption of less than 0.80 mW. The oscillator features a low noise, highly linear output that is matched well to the input. The SG-3030LC 32.7680KB0: PURE SN also provides excellent phase noise performance, with an optimized phase noise profile.The heart of the SG-3030LC 32.7680KB0: PURE SN oscillator is its shielded, low-loss Ecliptek oscillator IC. This integrated circuit contains a dynamic voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) that operates at a frequency determined by an externally applied input voltage. This voltage is typically received from an external frequency reference or a precision voltage reference source. The voltage reference source is typically a quartz crystal or ceramic resonator. The input voltage is applied to the oscillator IC and the frequency is converted to an appropriate frequency output from the oscillator.The dynamic VCO generates an output frequency that is dependent on the input frequency.
