Working Principle

The SG-9101CG-D20SGAAC is a highly programmable oscillator, thanks to its internal Digital Control Loop (DCL). DCL uses digitally filtered delta-sigma modulators to reduce noise in its output signals. The internal 38kHz PWM crystal oscillator generates excitation pulses which are then passed through a pulse transformer. These pulses are then rectified and integrated, resulting in a DC voltage which is then fed back to a comparator. The DC voltage is compared to a reference voltage, and depending on whether there is a difference between the two, the output of the oscillator changes accordingly, thus allowing the user to adjust the frequency of the output correctly.

Differential Output

The SG-9101CG-D20SGAAC is available with differential outputs for improved signal quality. The differential output is produced by the DCL output stage, providing improved phase noise characteristics and output amplitude.
