Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits are electronic assemblies developed for educating and testing engineering students, providing them with a platform to evaluate the functionality of their designs before competing for embedded systems. The SI3215DCQX-EVB, commonly known as DCQX-EVB, is one such Evaluation and Demonstration Board and Kit from Silicon Labs.

The SI3215DCQX-EVB is a dual-channel hardware evaluation board comprised of a temperature sensor, dual mixer transceiver, voltage regulator, rechargeable battery, and inductor-capacitor (LC) resonator. With the help of transceiver, the board can sense industrial tension for measuring temperature precisely, and transmit significant data in communication network through its mixer transceiver. This device is ideal for use in European industrial networks, including PROFIBUS, CANopen and DeviceNet. The device also meets EMC compatibility for strategic industrial applications.

The DCQX-EVB comes pre-assembled with the components required for its proper functioning, including a low-dropout voltage regulator. The voltage regulator aims to provide a regulated supply to varied load components such as mixers, transceiver, temperature sensors, and RTCs. The battery on the board acts as a power backup enthusiast for times of power outages. The ceramic LC resonator ensures a reliable and stable frequency for transmitting the sensor data packets. The board comprises of two oscillator pins for maximizing the EM compatibility. The board can support a number of different centers and designs including 400kHz,1MHz, 1.5Mhz, 2Mhz, and 3.5MHz.
