The SI3232-KQ is an advanced high-speed single port gigabit Ethernet line interface circuit that can be used for a variety of applications in the interface and telecom sector. It is a high-performance, low-cost solution for physical layer signaling transfer. It can be used for EtherFlex and HomePlug networks as well as for wide area networks (WAN).The SI3232-KQ’s line interface circuit operates with 3.3V transceivers, providing a multi-level data rate up to 1.25Gbps. It is optimized for 100-500 meters of convenient wiring, providing enhanced performance and improved signal integrity. The line interface circuit supports multiple gigabit Ethernet protocols including Ethernet, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet.The SI3232-KQ features network management features such as auto negotiation, fast recovery, and packet buffer data timer. These features allow the line interface circuit to quickly detect conventional errors on the network and automatically negotiate link speeds and network settings. Additionally, the SI3232-KQ also supports remote line loopback, fault/loss-of-layer alarms, and link status monitoring.In terms of power consumption, the SI3232-KQ consumes only 1.2W in active mode, ensuring maximum energy efficiency. The line interface circuit contains an advanced switch fabric with fast connection time, improved latency, and enhanced QoS. It also includes on-chip measurement and debug features such as packet corruption and packet sequence detection.The SI3232-KQ also contains multiple protection features for optimal operation, such as analog loopback, high-threshold pass, low-threshold pass, binary-EROE circuitry and programmable reference voltage. Additionally, the line interface circuit supports multiple clock rate options from 6.25MHz to 500MHz, allowing it to provide unmatched performance in terms of data rates, latency and interoperability.In terms of performance metrics, the SI3232-KQ has an efficient rate of 1.25Gbps, an improved link interface latency of 4.3us and a highly optimized switch fabric.
