The SI7013EVB-UDP evaluation board is a specialized board designed and manufactured by Silicon Laboratories. It is mainly used to evaluate the performance of the SI7013 digital relative humidity (RH) and temperature sensor. The SI7013EVB-UDP is an efficient way to determine the accuracy, sensitivity, temperature stability, and feature operation of the SI7013 digital humidity and temperature sensor. The SI7013EVB-UDP is comprised of two printed circuit boards: the Flex (Flexible) Board and the Main Board. Together, these boards form a complete evaluation board for analyzing and testing the performance of the SI7013 digital humidity and temperature sensor in a variety of applications.

The Flex Board is the heart of the SI7013EVB-UDP, carrying the SI7013RH05 sensor, EEPROM, user-programmable jumper for I2C address selection, and jumpers for digital sensor output. The flexible board also houses the I2C connection, the power supplies, the connection for the evaluation board, and provides the user with a verification mechanism to verify the performance of the SI7013RH05 sensor. The Main Board provides the interface to external sensors and optional I2C connections, the power supply, the user interface, and the test configuration. The Main Board includes a USB connection for downloading evaluation board data, as well as a D/A convertor.

The SI7013EVB-UDP utilizes an I2C based protocol to communicate between the Flex Board and the Main Board. It uses the I2C protocol as the primary communication medium and enables users to connect multiple SI7013 digital humidity and temperature sensors simultaneously. This protocol helps users save resources by reducing the number of wires that need to be connected to obtain sensor data. Furthermore, it provides a simplified interface for data transmission and facilitates faster data transmission.

The Flex Board also contains an embedded controller that can be used to store calibration constants and to accept user-defined functionality for extending the capabilities of the evaluation board. The controller also provides user programmable jumpers, which are used for storing user-defined calibration constants and for providing user-programmable presets. This default setting configuration is useful for configuring the evaluation board and setting up experiments. Additionally, the SI7013EVB-UDP is compliant with the European Standard EN-60601-1, which ensures user safety by providing protection from electric shock.
