Programmable Oscillators have been widely used in a mass range of applications, ranging from aviation, aerospace and communication to consumer, automotive and industrial use. One such programmable oscillator is the SIT1602ACE1-33S, which is specifically designed for consumer and automotive applications. With its excellent performance, reliability and accuracy, the SIT1602ACE1-33S is ideal for use in consumer and automotive applications.

The SIT1602ACE1-33S is a low-jitter, low-vibration, low-noise, and wide-temperature, multipurpose digital programmable oscillator that is compliant to EIA-481-3 standard. This oscillator is based on an advanced PLL (phase-locked loop) design with an embedded EPROM memory to program the output frequency. It provides excellent stability and reliability in harsh automotive and consumer environments.

The SIT1602ACE1-33S offers 14 different pre-programmed frequency outputs, including 48MHz, 60MHz and 125MHz, which are available on board. In addition, the oscillator can be programmed to generate any desired frequency in the range of eight megahertz to 53 megahertz with a resolution of 2.5 kHz. For those requiring higher frequencies, a separate frequency multiplier unit can be used to convert the lower frequency to any output frequency above 53 megahertz.

The SIT1602ACE1-33S features six operating modes, allowing it to be used in a wide range of applications. It offers two power supplies, 5V and 3V for applications requiring a reduced supply voltage. It also offers four selectable phase-noise modes, including fast phase-lock, low jitter mode, wide-load mode and low-power mode. In addition, the SIT1602ACE1-33S offers four programmable frequency tuning capabilities, which enable it to adapt its frequency to changing environmental conditions.

The working principle of the SIT1602ACE1-33S programmable oscillator is based on PLL (phase-locked loop) technology. The oscillator has an embedded EPROM memory where the desired output frequency is programmed. This frequency is then generated by a reference oscillator and then fed to the PLL. The PLL then takes the reference frequency, multiplies it and locks onto that frequency. This output is then divided down to the desired output frequency by a divider circuit. The output of the divider is then filtered and sent to the output.
