The oscillator features an operating temperature range of –40°C to +125°C and is available in both lead-free and leaded versions.The SIT1602AIE8-25E programmable oscillator operates based on a PLL (phase-locked loop) based architecture. The PLL is a type of feedback system, which is used to generate signals that are in phase with a reference signal. In the SIT1602AIE8-25E, the reference signal is a quartz crystal oscillator and the output signal is a single rate clock. There are several components involved in the operation of the PLL: input, phase/frequency detector, loop filter, and VCO (Voltage Controlled Oscillator).A phase/frequency detector is an electronic circuit that compares two signals and produces an output signal that depends on their difference in phase and/or frequency. It can be used to phase lock a signal to the phase and frequency of a reference signal.The loop filter is used to smooth out the output of the phase/frequency detector and provide a stable input to the VCO.
