Programmable oscillators are used in a variety of applications, ranging from frequency-specific tasks like timekeeping to more complex tasks, such as precision measurements and other general oscillator applications. Oscillators are employed in a wide range of applications and the SIT1602AIE8-33E is one such oscillator with a distinct advantage. The SIT1602AIE8-33E is a programmable CMOS oscillator that operates from a 16.384 MHz to 33.8688 MHz frequency range. It uses a crystal resonator emission for control and capacitance for tuning.The SIT1602AIE8-33E implements the latest advances in Programmable Oscillator technology. It offers two primary features: A programmable selection of input frequency and capability for self-calibration.The application field of the SIT1602AIE8-33E includes testing, broadcast and narrow-band communications, industrial measuring and control systems, clock generation, frequency synthesis, etc. The oscillator provides a variety of operating ranges and can accommodate a wide range of crystal resonators. It has an input voltage of 3.3V and is designed to operate over the wide temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. At the heart of the SIT1602AIE8-33E is the programmable working principle. It allows the user to program their desired frequency of operation, calibrated at the factory, within the frequency range of the oscillator. This is accomplished with an external programmable resistor. The output frequency of the oscillator is directly proportional to the external resistor value. The oscillator is also capable of self-calibration, provided the stability of the resonator and the results from a temperature range test. Self-calibration enables the user to fine-tune the oscillator to provide closing-tolerance accuracy.The SIT1602AIE8-33E is especially suited for applications which require high accuracy and stability over a wide temperature range. Additionally, its ability to self-calibrate ensures excellent accuracy, high reliability and long-term stability. In conclusion, the SIT1602AIE8-33E is an ideal solution for applications that demand reliability and precision in time-critical operations.
