This accuracy is made possible with a patented frequency trim technology, which allows for fine adjustment of the output frequency by as little as 0.5 ppm.The SIT1602AIF3-28S also features integrated loop filter and synthesizer circuitry. This eliminates the need for external components and greatly simplifies the design and implementation of the oscillator. Additionally, the oscillator features a built-in self-calibration mechanism that allows the oscillator to compensate for any temperature changes and other environmental conditions.The oscillator employs a fully-integrated voltage-controlled crystal oscillator (VCXO) based frequency synthesis technique. This technique utilizes a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) to generate a frequency range larger than the quartz crystals used in the oscillator. This allows the oscillator to generate frequencies over a much wider range than quartz crystals alone can achieve.The frequency control of the SIT1602AIF3-28S is adjusted by a programmable Digital-to-Analog (D/A) converter, which controls a capacitive frequency-adjusting element within the oscillator. The frequency is adjusted by varying the voltage supplied to the capacitive element, which in turn changes the capacitance and thereby adjusts the frequency of the oscillator.The SIT1602AIF3-28S is designed for use in applications that require high performance and long-term stability, including radio base station, navigation and communication systems, military platforms, and aerospace systems.
