Programmable Oscillators have become increasingly popular in the fields of communications, audio, medical, automotive, and industrial applications. The SIT1602BCB7-30E programmable oscillator is a high performance oscillator solution designed to maintain precise frequency stability and wide operating temperature. Its main application is in the high-frequency oscillation of SDR, IoT and other communication modules.

SIT1602BCB7-30E features a dual loop PLL technology for jitter correction with a maximum tuning bandwidth of 16 MHz up to 300 KHz. It also has a wide frequency range from 2.1 to 2.27GHz with excellent frequency stability and very low phase noise. It has an ultra-low power operation capability of 0.6 mA @ 3.3V and a very high output voltage of 3.3V. The output is tuned to only one frequency that can be programmed using an external microcontroller. Its designed crystal can reach 5.5pF load capacitance.

The working principle of the SIT1602BCB7-30E programmable oscillator is based on two configurations of the dual-loop PLL. One configuration is the digital loop, which consists of an analog multiplier, a reference divider and a digital loop filter. The other configuration is the analog loop, which includes an analog voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), a reference divider and an analog loop filter. The analog loop acts as the main feedback loop which dictates the output frequency of the oscillator.

The oscillator uses a combination of the digital and analog loops to maintain precise frequency stability. In the digital loop, the reference divider is adjusted to divide the reference frequency to a precisely stable output frequency. The digital loop filter then filters any residual jitter in the output signal. The analog loop is used to precisely adjust the phase of the output signal and enhance the linearity and drift performance of the oscillator.

The SIT1602BCB7-30E programmable oscillator is ideal for applications that require high frequency, stability and accuracy.
