Working principle

    

SIT1602BI-12-25S-40.000000G oscillators are built based on quartz crystal. Quartz crystal is the piezoelectric crystalline material, when quartz crystal in an alternating electric field with a certain frequency, it will produce mechanical vibration with the same frequency. This mechanical vibration will be converted into electrical signal, which is called resonance.

    

These oscillators consist of an oscillator crystal, a capacitance and an amplifier. When power is supplied to the oscillator, the circuits generate a signal of a certain frequency, the frequency is mainly determined by the quartz crystal. The frequency of quartz crystal can be changed by changing the capacitance of the circuit, thus controlling the output frequency of the oscillator.

    

Most of these oscillators use the Pierce oscillator circuit. This circuit uses three components, the quartz crystal, two resistors and an amplifier. When a voltage is applied to the circuit, the amplifier will generate a signal with a frequency determined by the quartz crystal and the two resistors will capacitively load the quartz crystal.

    

The output frequency of the oscillator can be adjusted by changing the capacitance of the circuit. The frequency of the output signal can be adjusted by increasing or decreasing the capacitance of the circuit.
