<p>Oscillators are electrical and electronic components used to generate electrical signals with a specific frequency. The RC network comprises a resistor and a capacitor connected in series and these components form a voltage divider circuit. The output voltage is the “ringing” voltage of the capacitor. When a voltage is applied to the input of the oscillator (at pin 12), it activates the RC network by charging the capacitor. The capacitor discharges periodically and the output voltage increases exponentially. This voltage peaks, decreases, and then appears at the output terminals (pins16,17) with a 180-degree phase shift. <p>The SIT1602BI-12-30N-66.666660D oscillator is made up of a number of components, such as an amplifier, JFET transistors, resistors, capacitors, output terminals, and an oscillator circuit. The oscillator circuit is the core of the oscillator, it is capable of generating a stable, accurate and repeatable oscillation frequency when connected to a voltage source. The amplifier boosts the input signal and amplifies the signal that is fed into the JFET transistors. The JFET transistors provide the gain, and they regulate the waveforms of the output signal. The resistors and capacitors are used to filter out all noise from the input signal.
