Programmable Oscillators

The SIT3821AI-1D-33EX is a programmable oscillator that’s designed to stimulate temperature or processing environment variables, within a fixed frequency range. In operation, the device can modify the frequency and the timing of a signal. This signal generator is specifically designed for standard clocks applications, over a wide range of frequencies. As part of the multi-phase family of signal generators, the SIT3821AI-1D-33EX can modify signal amplitude, duration and frequency, as well as timing and phasing. The oscillator is suitable for industrial, military and aerospace use, as it is highly reliable and withstanding extreme temperatures.

The SIT3821AI-1D-33EX is an intelligent system-on-chip programmable oscillator module. The device combines a programmable oscillator, power supply circuitry and a microcontroller all in one compact CMOS IC package.The microcontroller inside the SIT3821AI-1D-33EX consists of programmable clocks, frequency synthesisers, timings controllers and phase-locked loops, for precise timing and signal conditioning. Data can be programmed into the device’s ROM through the SPI interface.

The SIT3821AI-1D-33EX is designed to work in applications such as frequency synthesisers, signal generators and frequency dividers. It also has an integrated voltage-controlled oscillator, internal signal conditioning and an on-chip temperature compensator, making it suitable for use in temperature-sensitive applications. It is capable of generating accurate signal frequencies in the range of 0.5kHz to 40MHz and is programmable to any frequency within this range.

In operation, the SIT3821AI-1D-33EX requires a crystal oscillator as its reference to set the frequency of the output signal.
