Programmable oscillators are electrical circuits used to generate predetermined waveforms of a given frequency. Programmable oscillators are widely used in radar, medical imaging, broadcast transmitters, scientific instrumentation, electronic test and measurement equipment, and other applications. The SIT8008AIB8-25S is an example of a programmable oscillator designed for high-performance radio frequency applications.

The SIT8008AIB8-25S is a low-power CMOS oscillator with programmable frequency and duty cycle. It is housed in a very small 5mm x 7mm surface mount package, making this device suitable for applications where board space is limited. It is powered by a 3.3V supply voltage and has a programmed output of up to 25MHz.

The SIT8008AIB8-25S has a frequency accuracy of 50ppm over a temperature range from 0°C to 70°C and can be used in a wide range of applications. It is particularly well suited for microwave radio systems, military radar systems and other demanding applications. The SIT8008AIB8-25S also features advanced phase-lock-loop circuitry for phase-locked loop applications and time base generator capabilities.

The SIT8008AIB8-25S has an on-chip OscCtrl Block which can be programmed to generate output frequencies from 25MHz to 1.25MHz. The OscCtrl block contains a 16-bit control register which is used to set the output frequency and duty cycle. The register can be programmed via a serial data-bus interface such as SPI, I2C or a parallel port. This allows the output frequency to be easily adjusted according to the application requirements.

The SIT8008AIB8-25S also includes an on-chip frequency synthesizer which allows the output frequency to be tuned in 1-kHz steps. The frequency synthesizer has an adjustable reference frequency and it can be programmed to lock at integer ratios to the reference frequency.

The SIT8008AIB8-25S has a low-jitter output which, combined with its wide operating range and high programmability, makes the device an attractive choice for application such as frequency generation, clock generation and synchronization, signal synthesis, data communication, test and measurement and more. The SIT8008AIB8-25S is an excellent choice for applications that demand high performance, low power consumption, and flexibility.
