Programmable oscillators are devices that generate fixed frequency waves with a frequency range of up to several dozen MHz. With the continuous development of microelectronic technology, the frequency range of programmable oscillators is gradually expanded from low-end to high end, and the minimum output frequency is no longer limited to tens of kHz or hundreds of kHz. At the same time, programmable oscillators with microcontroller (MCU) enabled frequency sweep, frequency hopping, and external control are available in the market, and their application is more and more. The SIT8008AIU8-XXE is a high-frequency, low-power programmable oscillator. It has a frequency range of 10MHz-680MHz, and can be programmed via the I2C interface, with a fixed frequency jump between 1MHz-10MHz and adjustable frequency jump. With its small size and low power consumption, the SIT8008AIU8-XXE is ideal for use in sensor nodes, automotive electronics, security communication, and other high-frequency, low-power applications. The working principle of the SIT8008AIU8-XXE is based on the technique of dividing capacitors, which uses a circuit of several capacitors to produce a voltage or a frequency which is an exact multiple or fraction of the input frequency. The output frequency of the oscillator is determined by the combination of an external crystal oscillator and an internal capacitor, which is divided by a set of programmable dividers. The frequency of the oscillator can be adjusted by changing the programming of the divider, and the divider can be programmed by sending a signal to it through I2C.The SIT8008AIU8-XXE can also be programmed to change frequency in a controlled manner, known as frequency hopping.
