Programmable oscillators are capable of generating signals of very precise and stable frequencies, phase, and even two independent signals. They can be easily configured to output a single frequency, pulse, a wide range of modulated signals, and very accurate clocks. One example of a programmable oscillator is the SIT8008BCR3-30N drum oscillator. The SIT8008BCR3-30N is a 30mm square drum oscillator measuring in at only 3 mm high. It comes in an ELF (electronic fusible link) package that is solid, reliable and suitable for reflow soldering. It has a frequency range of 0.1 Hz ~ 400MHz making it highly versatile for a diverse range of applications. The SIT8008BCR3-30 N drum oscillator utilizes temperature compensated systems and a MEMs resonator to ensure an excellent frequency stability and tolerance over a wide range of operating temperature conditions. This also allows for a fly timing range of -100 ppm, to +100 ppm. With a maximum frequency deviation of ±20 PPM both typical and maximum swing, the SIT8008BCR3-30N is perfect for applications that require reliable, accurate and stable frequency outputs. The SIT8008BCR3-30N provides various modes of operation such as with or without a crystal or MEMs resonator, as well as unlocked (open loop) and user programmable modes, depending on the customers’ needs. It also employs a high-speed ASIC processor that significantly reduces cycle time and overall power consumption.With low power consumption and very low emissions, the SIT8008BCR3-30N is ideal for use in modern electronic devices. Its advanced design also allows for improved coupling between components and better immunity to high voltage and electrostatic discharges (ESD).The SIT8008BCR3-30N is a low phase noise oscillator and advantages applications with its high phase linearity and ultra-low phase noise jitter. It is capable of generating ultra low jitter over a wide frequency range with tight lock tolerances and stable behaviour regardless of environmental temperature. The SIT8008BCR3-30N also has a very high resistance to interference, making it ideal for use in systems that require ultra-reliable signals.The SIT8008BCR3-30N provides completely adjustable frequency programming, allowing it to be set to a wide range of frequencies. With the programmable internal registers the device can support a variety of frequencies and output types such as sine waves, square waves, pulses and multi-tone. With an output frequency range of 0.1 Hz to 400MHz, the stability and accuracy of these frequencies are assured.The SIT8008BCR3-30N offers features and capabilities that make it suitable for a wide range of applications. It is used in such applications as machine control systems, telecommunications, datacom and industrial automation. The SIT8008BCR3-30N is capable of providing excellent signal performance, exceptional frequency accuracy and stability, and very low power consumption, making it ideal for a variety of programmable oscillator applications.
