Programmable oscillators are frequency control circuits that are used to generate a variety of periodic waveforms and frequency ranges. SIT8008BIB8-25E is a type of programmable oscillator which has become a popular choice for many noteworthy applications.

High in performance, the SIT8008BIB8-25E is a system in package product with integrated EPROM and oscillator components. In comparison to standard discrete solution, this integrated product has the capacity to form a complete system with much fewer components and very low cost, reducing the complexity of the circuit and significantly bringing down the overall size and power consumption.

The core technical features of this programmable oscillator are in the Self-Calibrating Frequency Synthesizer module. This module makes use of the system’s crystal to perform a self-calibration process. The SIT8008BIB8-25E also uses an external device to adjust the internal crystal frequency so as to achieve maximum frequency accuracy at different temperature and operating conditions. This is an exclusive feature of the product.

The SIT8008BIB8-25E has high flexibility, in comparison to standard oscillators, as one can make modifications in the value of the internal oscillator components and adjust them for the best performance outcome. Through this feature, the product can be used for a wide range of applications, from supplying clock signals to very low frequency analog circuits to enable high frequency radio communication.

This oscillator has a slew rate of 1uV/s and a precision of ±8ppm. It has an operating temperature range of -25 to +85C. The product offers two operating modes, Positive and Negative Edge. In the Positive Edge mode, the output signal is generated at the rising edge of the input signal, while the Negative Edge mode generates the signal at the falling edge of the input signal. The chip also allows one to set the back-bias voltage level of the internal oscillator components. It also offers a high speed SPI interface.

Apart from the aforementioned performance parameters, SIT8008BIB8-25E also provides a unique on-chip EPROM which is used to store the identifying data of the end application, such as product type, manufacturing date and production lot. This allows users to easily customize the oscillator for their particular applications. Moreover, the product also comes with a 4-wire interface and through this interface, the oscillator can be configured to run at any frequency between 10KHz and 800MHz.

The SIT8008BIB8-25E programmable oscillator is suitable for numerous applications that require precise frequency control. Its salient features make it a preferred choice for many various applications, such as control systems, medical instrumentation, medical imaging, satellite communication, networking and many more.
