Working principle

SIT8008BIU7-25N is designed to function on a proprietary algorithm that incorporates both a quartz crystal resonator and a digital driver circuitry. The quartz crystal resonator utilizes a specialized ratio between an inductor and a capacitor to generate a precise frequency at a given set of conditions. The digital driver circuitry is responsible for controlling the frequency of the oscillator by utilizing an Alternate Phase-Locked Loop (APLL) to adjust the frequency in real time. This APLL allows the device to maintain a precise frequency over a wide range of temperatures and other environmental conditions.

The APLL works by monitoring the input signal and compares it to an internal reference clock. If the actual measured frequency diverges from the desired frequency, the APLL will adjust the ratio of the inductor and capacitor to correct the frequency. SIT8008BIU7-25N also incorporates power saving technologies such as Digital Delay-Locked Loop (DDLL) and Asynchronous Clock Free Running (ACFR). In DDLL mode, the oscillator will reduce its power consumption by only activating the quartz crystal when an input signal is present and will reduce the crystal’s power consumption further when the signal frequency is constant. Similarly, in ACFR mode, the oscillator will reduce the crystal’s power consumption whenever the frequency of the input signal is steady for a predetermined amount of time.
