Oscillators are electronic devices that produce an output signal which varies only in time, or changes in a repetitive fashion, such as a sine wave, triangle wave, or square wave. They are used in many electronic applications, such as audio oscillators, communications, and other waveform generators.The SIT8208AC-31-28E-8.192000X is a universal quartz oscillator that provides a frequency range of 8.192 kHz to 250MHz across various temperature ranges. It is available in both commercial and industrial temperature ranges (-20°C to +70°C, -40°C to +85°C). The oscillator is an AT cut, isMHz-stable, and has low-jitter specifications.The primary use of the oscillator is to convert a fixed DC voltage input into a digital output pulse train or a predetermined analog waveform output. For digital applications, the device can generate a sine wave, sawtooth wave, square wave, or other waveforms. It can also be used as a variable frequency source for frequency division or PLL (phase locked loop) applications.The oscillator circuit consists of a quartz crystal (a piezoelectric resonator), a QM (Quartz Mode) tuned LC (inductance/capacitance) circuit, and a voltage control circuit. The quartz crystal is cut along the X, Y, and Z axes. When a voltage is applied to the two ends of the crystal, it produces an oscillating AC signal whose frequency is determined by the cut and thickness of the crystal.The resonant frequency of the quartz crystal can be adjusted by adding or subtracting parallel inductance/capacitance components, which are connected to the crystal. This LC circuit is tuned to the desired frequency, and then the output voltage of the LC is monitored by the voltage control circuit. The voltage control circuit then adjusts the frequency of the oscillator so that it stays at the desired frequency.The SIT8208AC-31-28E-8.192000X universal quartz oscillator offers excellent stability and low-jitter performance for both commercial and industrial temperature range applications. It is an ideal solution for frequency synthesis, digital logic control circuits, timing circuits, and other similar applications.
