It is available in both commercial and industrial temperature ranges (-20°C to +70°C, -40°C to +85°C). The oscillator is an AT cut, isMHz-stable, and has low-jitter specifications.The primary use of the oscillator is to convert a fixed DC voltage input into a digital output pulse train or a predetermined analog waveform output. For digital applications, the device can generate a sine wave, sawtooth wave, square wave, or other waveforms. It can also be used as a variable frequency source for frequency division or PLL (phase locked loop) applications.The oscillator circuit consists of a quartz crystal (a piezoelectric resonator), a QM (Quartz Mode) tuned LC (inductance/capacitance) circuit, and a voltage control circuit. The quartz crystal is cut along the X, Y, and Z axes. When a voltage is applied to the two ends of the crystal, it produces an oscillating AC signal whose frequency is determined by the cut and thickness of the crystal.The resonant frequency of the quartz crystal can be adjusted by adding or subtracting parallel inductance/capacitance components, which are connected to the crystal. This LC circuit is tuned to the desired frequency, and then the output voltage of the LC is monitored by the voltage control circuit.
