Oscillators

Oscillators are components of any electronic device or system of circuits that generate an oscillator signal. They produce harmonic oscillations of a certain frequency by converting energy into an oscillator signal. SIT8225AC-G3-33E-25.001200Y is an oscillator component which belongs to the product family of Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI) oscillator devices. It is used for manufacturing compact high-frequency RF signal sources and clocks in the 1.2GHz frequency range, and in numerous industries such as telecommunication, wireless communication, broadcasting, navigation and aerospace. This low-power YIG oscillator is also suitable for medical and automotive applications.The working principle of the SIT8225AC-G3-33E-25.001200Y is based on the YIG magnetostatic wave resonance. The oscillator is provided in a passive form with the necessary on-crystal elements for generating its signal. It works by having a constant energy source of oscillations, which is generated by a quartz-crystal resonator. The frequency is then set by means of a fine-adjustable electrical divider network.The YIG element is a layer of gallium-magnetite (Gd3Fe2O4) that is placed on an insulating base. A current is applied to the YIG element, which creates a magnetic field in the element. This magnetic field interacts with the surface atoms of the YIG layer, causing them to oscillate. This creates a magnetostatic wave resonance that is output as a signal with the desired frequency.The oscillator generates a low phase noise signal with a wide dynamic range. The signal is generated from the resonator and then amplified to the desired power level. The signal can also be adjusted with the divider network for the specific frequency.
