Programmable Oscillators
Programmable oscillators are a type of oscillator with variable frequency which are capable of accurately controlling their frequency. Programmable oscillators have the capability to adjust their frequency as per the requirements of a particular application. This type of oscillator is typically used in applications that require precise control and precise timing.The SIT9002AC-08N33DG programmable oscillator is a high performance and low power oscillator used for timing requirements in various industrial, military, and medical applications. It is a surface-mount, Ultra-Aligned oscillator with an 8.33mm package size and is designed to meet the stringent demands of both high-temperature and radiation-tolerant applications. This device features a low start-up time of approximately 50ms and a high stability of <0.30ppm over the range of -40°C to +125°C. When compared to traditional designs, the SIT9002AC-08N33DG also offers superior phase noise performance. The device offers either differential or single-ended CMOS outputs which are frequency-agile and programmable using an SMBus interface. This interface supports 4 frequency settings over a wide range of 25-40 MHz or 6 frequency settings over a narrow range of 25-40MHz. One of the biggest advantages of the SIT9002AC-08N33DG is that it is easily customizable and allows flexibility when selecting the correct frequency settings. The Oscillator is based on a voltage-controlled oscillator design. It utilizes an inverted VCO core operating at its resonance frequency. This frequency can be adjusted using an external tuning voltage. The voltage is applied to the VCO core and its frequency is adjusted accordingly. The tuning range is determined by the magnitude of the tuning voltage. The device also has an on-chip encoding circuit which is used to store the frequency settings. This circuit allows the oscillator to select the desired frequency by decoding the settings from the encoding circuit.The SIT9002AC-08N33DG has a wide range of applications in industrial, military, and medical fields.
