Programmable Oscillators

SIT9002AC-43H25DD is a Rubidium frequency standard (RFS) controlled oscillator. It is a temperature-controlled voltage-controlled oscillator (TCVCXO) with input voltage and temperature-adaptive controls, offering better stability and broader temperature range than other Quartz oscillators. It is a programmable oscillator designed to provide precision frequency control over the frequency range of 10 MHz to 43 MHz, with typical flicker phase noise of -130 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset.

Application Field

SIT9002AC-43H25DD is widely used as an alternative to quartz oscillator solutions, particularly in applications that require extremely low phase noise, such as telecom base stations, military/aerospace related applications, satellite systems and wireless communications. It is also suitable for applications that require very low temperature drift, including precision timing applications such as instrumentation, navigation and test systems.

Working Principle

The SIT9002AC-43H25DD uses a Rubidium Frequency Standard (RFS) as a source of precision timing to ensure low jitter, low phase noise and high stability. A Temperature Compensated Voltage Control Oscillator (TCVCXO) is used to provide the active frequency control within the unit. This control element has input voltage control and temperature compensation to provide a low temperature drift, which is capable of maintaining a tight frequency tolerance over the extended temperature range and high vibration environments.The Rubidium Frequency Standard (RFS) is a highly stable, temperature-controlled oscillator, capable of maintaining its output frequency within 0.2 parts per billion (ppb) drift per day. The RFS is locked to a 10MHz quartz crystal reference oscillator and continuously tracked for both temperature and frequency stability. This allows the SIT9002AC-43H25DD to offer superior performance compared with other regulate frequency sources, providing up to 0.6 ppm frequency accuracy at 25 °C, and low phase noise of -130 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz offset.In addition, the SIT9002AC-43H25DD offers frequency programmability. This feature can be used to change the output frequency of the unit on demand, or to compensate for frequency deviations due to aging and temperature effects. The programmable frequency can range from 10MHz to 43MHz, determined by the external referencing input.
