Programmable oscillators are an important technology in many applications. SIT9002AI-13H25ET is one of the most widely used programmable oscillators available, meeting the requirements of many applications in both consumer and industrial settings.

This family of oscillators is based on a Phase Locked Loop (PLL) frequency synthesis architecture and provides a high degree of integration. It comes with a selectable divide-by-2 mode, where the outputs are synchronized with the selected clock signal. The outputs are also available in various formats, such as open drain, LVCMOS, HCSL or LVDS.

When it comes to the working principle, it utilizes an advanced PLL architecture with a fractional feedback loop. This enables the oscillator to have an ultralow phase noise floor and high signal-to-noise ratio, ideal for applications requiring high-precision signal sources.

It contains a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) and a phase-frequency detector (PFD) to generate signals at different frequencies. The controller first needs to detect the reference frequency and compare it to the VCO output. It then calculates the required frequency and adjusts the PLL output accordingly.

The SIT9002AI-13H25ET integrates an EEPROM memory, which allows easy configuration of various parameters and configuration of the clock source.
