The SIT9002AI-18H33DG utilises a sinusoidal wave looper technique for frequency control. In this technique, a waveform is sampled at a fixed interval and a fixed waveform pattern is generated by linking these samples. This technique is favoured due to its low cost and high accuracy in controlling an oscillator’s frequency. Once a waveform is generated, the waveform can be filtered through a low pass filter to obtain the desired signal type. It can also be used to output a digital square wave by setting the parameters accordingly.

The oscillator can be programmed using two external resistors, which are connected to the frequency setting pins. The signal frequency is determined by these resistors, and if the value of the resistors is changed, then the signal frequency can be changed accordingly. The accuracy of the signal frequency rate is adjustable in the range of +/- 100 ppm.

The output waveform is adjustable from 0.5V to the supply voltage of 10V. The device is able to handle temperatures of -40°C to +85°C and is also protected from ESD, supply transient and high temperature.
