The SIT9002AI-48H25DT is suitable for a range of applications where a steady, precise frequency is needed, including telecom base station clock distribution and general timing applications such as message generation, data transmission and audio/video encoding. It can also be used as a reference clock source for frequency synthesisers, as well as for controlling voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs).

The working principle of the SIT9002AI-48H25DT is based on a combination of a highly accurate frequency divider and a Piezo-electric quartz crystal. The crystal vibrates at a precisely known frequency and sends an electrical signal to the frequency divider. The output of the divider is then compared with the reference input frequency to determine whether it is in frequency lock.
