Programmable Oscillators

Programmable oscillators are used to generate custom frequencies with a high level of accuracy. One example of a programmable oscillator is the SIT9003AI-3-28SB.

The SIT9003AI-3-28SB programmable oscillator integrates a high-performance CMOS oscillator, a crystal oscillator, and a synchronization oscillator into one package. It is designed to generate production-level frequencies from 30 kHz up to 30 MHz with very low jitter. It has an integrated fan-out buffer with an accurate delay control for CPU and SDRAM synchronization. Working Principle

The SIT9003AI-3-28SB programmable oscillator is designed to generate frequencies from 30 kHz up to 30 MHz with low jitter and high accuracy. It is based on a crystal oscillator circuit, which consists of a crystal and two active devices. The crystal is made up of two metal plates vibrating at their natural frequency in response to an alternating current. The alternating current is generated by the active devices – transistors or field effect transistors (FETs).
