Programmable oscillators are devices that are used to generate an accurate and precise waveform in both analog and digital environments. SIT9005ACB2G-18NJ is a programmable oscillator designed by Renesas Electronics Corporation. It is a surface mount device, measures 5.0 x 3.2 mm and its operating temperature range is -40°C to +85°C.SIT9005ACB2G-18NJ is a Programmable Oscillator which provides a variety of wave forms from very simple waveforms like Sine, Square, Triangle, to very complex waveforms. This device is suitable for use in different applications such as frequency generation, phase-locking, clock synchronization, and pulse-width modulation.This oscillator provides frequencies between 24 MHz to 250 MHz, and features a lower power consumption than conventional oscillators. In addition, its frequency is easy to set and can be adjusted with an external resistor. The high frequency selection allows a wide range of products to be targeted with this oscillator, e.g. network communication, broadband and digital applications.The device can also be used as a voltage controlled oscillator. It offers a wide frequency control range and a low phase noise performance. The device has two output buffers that each can supply up to 12mA. The output type can be configured to LVPECL (TTL compatible).The working principle of the SIT9005ACB2G-18NJ is a combination of both voltage-controlled oscillators (VCOs) and frequency synthesizers. The oscillator consists of an adjustable frequency reference generator, an adjustable frequency synthesizer, an adjustable voltage-controlled oscillator, and a frequency divider for generating output signals.The adjustable frequency synthesizer is based on the concept of an input reference clock and an adjustable frequency reference generator. The frequency reference generator produces a accurate and precise clock signal which is then fed to the frequency synthesizer. The frequency synthesizer uses the clock signal to produce an adjustable output clock frequency of up to 250 MHz.The adjustable voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) generates an output waveform that is adjustable in frequency and amplitude. The VCO can be adjusted in order to control the output frequency or the output waveform shape.The frequency divider divides the VCO output frequency and produces the output waveforms.The SIT9005ACB2G-18NJ is an excellent choice for applications such as noise suppression for EMI/EMC, frequency synthesizers and frequency control. It is an ideal choice for applications where an accurate and precise waveform is required. It also offers excellent power consumption, lower phase noise and superior frequency stability. In addition, this oscillator can be used in applications such as clock synchronization, frequency generation, pulse-width modulation and phase-locking.
